Mark your calendar: Spring is only a couple days away! That means you have the perfect excuse to update your cosmetics bag with the latest looks for the new season. According to Andrew C. Petersen, assistant manager of the Cos Bar Charleston, the look for spring is "simple," with a pop of color on the lips and eyes.
"One of my favorite products has been Laura Mercier's Bronzing Gel. It works with all skin tones, and it's a liquid formula so it's mistake-proof."Petersen says.
As the weather turns increasingly humid, you'll also find yourself in need of a good primer. "It gets very humid in Charleston, so primers are important for making sure your foundation and makeup stay on," Petersen explains. "We love Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer. It has a flawless finish and keeps your makeup on all day."
But while Petersen believes that "less is more" for spring, especially in Charleston, he says his clients love a pop of color on the lips. "We've been selling Natura Bisse's NB Ceutical Lip Recovery Balm like crazy," he says. "We prep the lips with that, then add color. YSL's Sheer Candy lipsticks are amazing for a pop of color on the lips — they let you be a little daring with color, but since they're sheer, everyone can wear them."
Finally, your spring look is not complete without a fresh, signature scent. "My favorite go-to spring fragrance is Givenchy's Dahlia Noir," Petersen says. "It's a spring bouquet of fresh mimosa."
