Christina Robertson, Licensed Esthetician, Aromatherapist, Master Sugarist and owner of Sweet 185 has some thoughts to share with you on the Elasticity of Your Skin especially after using Alpha-hydroxy acid creams. (Click here to read the entire article.)
"Alpha-hydroxy is popular because fruit acids dissolve the intracellular “glue” that holds the outer layer of cells to the surface of the skin. This often makes skin plumper-looking and even reduces the appearance of fine lines.
But I have to wonder, what does that do to the elasticity of our skin? No matter how impressive the short term results, over time the skin will react defiantly by toughening up.
Keep your skin elastic by keeping it moist. Spray it with a floral water that is made to balance your skin regularly (with the essential oils of rose or lavender). I recommend Hydrating Mineral Mist from Anakiri that stimulates collagen, enhances skin immunity, rejuvenates, uplifts and restores.
Also, use a moisturizer made by a company that truly has your health as a priority. We recommend Calendula Cream for skin by Jurlique, a soothing, non-greasy cream rich in calendula and witch hazel, to restore and condition delicate skin. When you apply the moisturizer, take a few minutes and stimulate your skin with a light massage. Stretch your mouth in every direction, open your eyes extra wide and give your skin a little workout."
Receive 15% off any Anakiri Mineral Mist or Jurlique skin crème at Sweet 185 when you mention this article.

Celebrate the Season at Mac & Murphy December 17 with fashion handbag designer Allison Abney and artist Whitney Kreb from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at their store at 74.5 Cannon Street.
Allison Abney began creating handbags in 2003 in a selfish effort to create what she couldn't find: a sophisticated, luxe accessory for any evening. Allison designs handbags to complement the most elegant of classic gowns, which wear equally as well with jeans and a tank. Allison Abney handbags are "feminine, sexy conversation pieces." Drawing inspiration from the chic, fun-loving women around her, Allison combines vintage and silk fabrics with modern design to create timeless handbags.
Now living in Charleston, Whitney Kreb's, oil paintings pay tribute to the inherent characteristics of the coastal landscapes. Her contemporary approach to a traditional subject matter results in a unique interpretation of east coast scenery, as well as a playful demonstration of painting's capabilities. She was recently named "Promising New Artist" by the Artists' Association of Nantucket.

Friday December 4 from 5.30 to 8.30 PM featuring the mother/daughter duo of Felice and Tracy Sharp.
Felice Sharp, a former dancer and current yoga instructor, has an intimate knowledge of the human physical form, fluid movements and graceful lines, all of which shape the figurative character of her work. Her works appear in numerous galleries and private collections around the world including the collections of Elton John, Wynona Judd, Emeril Lagasse and Dr. Phil.
Tracy Sharp, daughter of Felice Sharp, paints abstract figurative works using a blend of pigments and mixed media. Tracy has appeared on CNN where she discusses how she found her inner artist. Tracy says, “The best things in life are often disguised as tragedies. A declining market and difficult personal shifts encouraged me to reach beyond myself and into this world of art.”
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet the mother daughter duo and see some truly breathtaking works of art. A portion of proceeds will go to the Djole African Dance and Drum Company, helping children from low income families get off the streets.
