This month's CHEC meeting is in the Cooper River Room at the wonderful new Mount Pleasant Visitor Center, the only one of its kind on the East
coast. The Visitor Center, which opened July 3rd, boasts a fishing pier that is the longest in the state and stretches 1,250
feet over the Cooper River in the shadow of the famed Arthur Ravenel,
Jr. Bridge. A snack and tackle shop are open to welcome those wanting a
bite to eat or looking to catch the big one. Additional park features
include a waterfront playground for children, ample restroom
facilities, convenient parking options, a kayak launching area, an
amphitheater that overlooks the river and Charleston skyline, the
Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Pavilion and the Cooper River Room, which is
available for private parties and receptions. The nine-acre property will be open to the public year-round from
6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. A War Memorial is prominently displayed on the
premises.
Join us as we explore this new Charleston treasure on Monday, July 27th at 11:30 AM. Click here to book your tickets online, or email Jennifer Ray at jennifer@spiritlinecruises.com. Member tickets are $15, non-member $20. Remember to bring raffle items to benefit the Carolina Youth Development Center, our beneficiary du jour.
