Charleston WreathFest is a community project to make downtown Charleston attractive and festive for holiday shoppers and visitors. To participate, businesses will hang live wreaths on their doors or windows during the season in a unified expression of holiday abundance and joy. This project is coordinated by the Charleston Peninsula Preservation Trust together with Thackeray Farms, a locally owned small farm on Wadmalaw Island.

The Wreaths
Thackeray Farms offers special prices and free Wednesday delivery on Christmas Wreaths for any downtown business. The Fraser Fir wreaths are available in three sizes and match the wreaths the City of Charleston will install on streetlamp posts throughout the downtown area. The wreaths arrive unadorned so each business can apply their personal touch, whether it’s a big red bow, holiday decor, or something totally individual and creative. The Contest
The most imaginative, beautiful and spirited entries will receive media attention and can win valuable prizes including advertising, sidewalk and window cleaning, and gift certificates. To register, send a photo of your decorated wreath, window decor or both to wreathcontest@charlestonppt.org. Each entry will be posted online at www.charlestonwreathfest.com from November 25 to December 8. The winners will be announced December 11 at 2nd Sunday on King Street.
The first fifty entries will win one of Rick Reinert's beautiful WreathFest posters.
There are four categories:

Judges for the wreath contest include David Harrison, Interior Design Department Chair, The Art Institute of Charleston; Artist Carolyn Epperly, President of the South Carolina Watermedia Society and owner of Lowcountry Artists Gallery; Rosanna Giacalone Krekel, Regional Director of the Fashion Group International of Charleston; Melissa Bigner, Editor of Charleston Weddings Magazine and author of Southern Bouquets; Olivia Pool, Publisher of Art Mag Charleston, and other members of Charleston's art and media communities.
The WreathFest Poster
The beautiful poster is reproduced from Charleston Impressionist Rick Reinert's painting "Towards Lower King," a 36x48" oil on canvas, with wreaths digitally added for Charleston Wreathfest. It is printed on 11x17 art paper in striking colors, ready to frame. $10 plus shipping.
