Join the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sustainable Seafood Initiative and the Old Village Post House December 7th from 6:30-9:30PM for a delicious dinner featuring items from our coast. Enjoy a five-course sustainable seafood meal with wine pairings while you learn how your seafood choices today can ensure healthy fish for the future. The menu includes:
FIRST COURSE: Tuna Sashimi with Watermelon Radish, Arugula, Mint Salad, Salty Meyer Lemon Purée, and Smoked Paprika Oil, paired with a Taltarni Sparkling “Brut Tache” NV, Tasmania.
SECOND: Local Clam and Leek Ravioli with Yellow and Red Pepper Fondue, Bacon Flavored Bread Crumbs, Chives, and Sweet Chili Threads, paired with a Batasiolo “Sobrano” Barbera, Piedmonte, Italy 2009.
THIRD: Cornmeal Crusted Trout “Almondine” with Celery Root Purée, Parsley Lemon Zest Salad, and Marcona Almond Brown Butter, paired with a Vincent Girardin Pouilly-Fuisse, Burgundy, France 2009.
FOURTH: Roasted Grouper with Steamed Shrimp and Cabbage Dumpling, Snow Peas and Mushrooms, Crispy Carrots, and Lime Ginger Shrimp Agrodolce, paired with a Sokol Blosser Evolution NV, Oregon.
FIFTH: Mocha Pots de Crème with a Double Chocolate Chip Cookie, paired with a Rosa Regale Brachetto NV, Piedmonte, Italy.
Ten percent of the proceeds from the dinner will benefit the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sustainable Seafood Initiative, a conservation program of the non-profit organization.
