Carolina's Southern Bistro will host a Four-Course "USA vs France" Wine Dinner, Wednesday, August 24, at 7:00 PM for just $60 per person. Executive Chef Jill Mathias has quite an interesting menu and selection of wines for the evening. Each course will pair an American wine and a wine from France, hence the "USA vs France."
- FIRST COURSE: Grouper Belly with apple, parsley and celery leaves paired with Veuve Clicquot, France and J Brut of Sonoma.
- SECOND COURSE: Tommy Edwards local head-on-shrimp with baby Bok Choy and Orange Beurre Blanc paired with
Olivier Leflaive “Les Sétilles” Bourgogne Blanc, Puligny/Meursault Blend Burgundy '09 and a Rodney Strong “Chalk Hill” Chardonnay an '09 from Sonoma.
- THIRD COURSE: Roasted Duck Breast with an Anson Mills Polenta Cake, spinach, Hen-of-the-Woods Mushrooms paired with Latour Nuits St. George, Burgundy '09 and an '09 Erath Pinot Noir from Oregon.
- FOURTH COURSE: Crescenza & Petit Fours served with a Pacific Rim Riesling Vin de Glaciere '09 from Washington.
