Cask Beer Breakfast at Ted's Butcherblock Featuring New Holland Dragon's Milk

The crew at Ted's Butcherblock will tap into a special cask of New Holland Dragon's Milk at a special Cask Breakfast on Saturday, May 18 starting at 10:00am. This bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout will be paired with an eclectic menu of breakfast items, including Duck Crepes, Austin-Style Migas, Steak & Eggs and an Ultimate Breakfast Burger.

The keg gets tapped at 10:00 am and is available for $5/pint while it lasts. The special breakfast menu is priced per item and will be available from 10 am -1 pm, with the exception of the Ultimate Breakfast Burger, which will be available all day. No reservations are required for this special Saturday event.

Charleston Chef Showdown: North Vs. South, May 9th

Charleston Culinary Tours’ Charleston Chefs Showdown will take place on Thursday, May 9th from 6:30-9:30pm at the Maritime Center. South of Calhoun Chefs Ross Webb of Leaf Cafe and Steven Ollard of Amen Street are pitted against North of Calhoun Chefs Trey Stabler of Five Loaves Cafe and Shay MacDonald of HoM.

As these competitors go head to head in a series of cook offs to determine who will be named champion, guests will be able to watch the exhilarating live competition and view the judging panel in action. Judges include Stephanie Barna of Charleston City Paper, Josh Keeler of Two Boroughs Larder and Ken Emery of Burwells.

Ted's Butcherblock Taps Into Palmetto's "Columbus Discovers Macadamia with a Cherry on Top", April 18

Ted's Butcherblock will be tapping into a unique cask from Palmetto Brewery on Thursday, April 18 at its monthly Cask Happy Hour Event. "Columbus Discovers Macadamia with a Cherry on Top" is an amber featuring cherries, macadamia nuts and Columbus hops.

The cask gets tapped at 6:30 pm and will be served with a special menu of $12 small plates (see menu below), along with the shop's regular menu of sandwiches, salads, soups and gourmet prepared items. No reservations are required for this happy hour-style event.

Beef Sliders- Painted Hills chuck & brisket, american cheese, onions, pickles, ultimate sauce, housemaid chips

2013 Charleston Farmers Market Opens Saturday

This Saturday, April 13th kicks off the 2013 Season for the Charleston Farmers Market! Since 1989, the Charleston Farmers Market has supported and featured Lowcountry farmers and growers, artisans, food  vendors, live music, and more! 

Stop by Marion Square at the corner of King & Calhoun Streets and load up on Lowcountry seasonal produce & more. Admission is free. The Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8:00am - 2:00pm and runs April 13-December 21, 2013.

Support Our Troops at Wounded Warrior Fundraiser

A Wounded Warrior Fundraiser Luncheon is being held at the Harbour Club on April 5 from 12pm-2pm. A portion of the ticket sales as well as proceeds from the silent auction go towards the Wounded Warrior Project which helps honor & empower wounded service members.  

An original commissioned oil painting by the famous Patrick Matthews will be auctioned off at the event. Patrick is the foremost living impressionist artist in America today. He is also selling a limited number of signed and numbered prints for $100, with all profits going towards the WWP.
